Paul Dueck; Mr. Dueck; or Mr. Paul, whichever you chose to call him, was a blessing to UMEI Christian High School. He embodied what it meant to be a Christ-like teacher. A teacher at UMEI is an educator that goes above the call of duty for his/her students. He/she cares not just about the academic standings of a student, but about their spiritual life as well. While learning from Mr. Paul, I felt cared for when I needed it and challenged to do more when I could handle it. To many of us, Mr. Paul makes up a big portion of our musical memories at UMEI. His joy and fun nature spread to all of his students. But, he was more than a music teacher. Mr. Paul was a friend when needed, our biggest encourager, a role model for young Christians, and an expert at getting angry at us in German for goofing off in class. We all hope to see you this year Mr. Paul!
